Billy Kim, 70, president of the Baptist World Alliance, received the 2004 Lions Clubs International Humanitarian Award yesterday. It is the first time for a Korean to be presented with the award, which Mother Teresa and former U.S. President Jimmy Carter received in 1986 and 1996, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>The award was conferred at the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Mich., with 20,000 people from around the world attending.<\/p>\n<p>The prize money of $200,000 will be donated to organizations that help autistic children, according to Kim, who also heads the Far East Broadcasting Company-Korea, a Christian radio broadcaster.<\/p>\n<p>Kim was born 1934 in Gyeonggi Province.
